Speak up. Stay safe.

Crimestoppers are an independent charity that give people the power to speak up to stop crime 100% anonymously.

Whoever you are, wherever you live, from communities to companies.

By phone and online, 24/7, 365 days a year.Crimestoppers Logo

If you have any information about a crime you can contact Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their Anonymous Online Form at crimestoppers-uk.org.

No personal details are taken, information cannot be traced or recorded and you will not go to court or have to speak to police when contacting Crimestoppers.

Crimestoppers also share advice on how to protect the people you care about from crime, so everyone can feel safe.

After receiving your call or a completed anonymous online form, Crimestoppers create a report that brings together all the information you gave us, making sure it doesn't contain any information that could identify you.

Your report is sent to the relevant authority with the legal responsibility to investigate crimes, make arrests and charge people in order to bring them to justice. This could be your local police force or an agency such as the UK Border Agency or HM Revenue & Customs. Find out more about what Crimestoppers do with your information here.

Giving information

Crimestoppers don't want your identity. They just want information on a crime.

Everyone who gives them information stays 100% anonymous.

They won’t ask your name. Won’t judge. Just listen to what you know. When you hang up the phone or click ‘send’ on our anonymous online form, you’re done.

  • No police contact
  • No witness statements
  • No courts.

Every year they help stop thousands of crimes. Speak up. Stay safe.

About

Crimestoppers have been around since 1988. They started off as the Community Action Trust with a simple phone line. People called our team and they listened; they took information about crime, stripped it of any information that could identify the person making the call, and passed it to the police.

In 1995, they became Crimestoppers and they've grown in size and ambition, working with businesses to make communities safer, and carrying out educational campaigns through regional teams and central office. Since 2005, they've hosted appeals for suspects on their Most Wanted Gallery.

One thing hasn’t changed though: whoever contacts Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and via the online form with information about crime, is 100% anonymous. Always.

Crimestoppers have listened to millions of people over the years; their international appeals have resulted in over 140,000 arrests.
