Merseyside's Police Commissioner is today meeting with the body which supports and scrutinises her work, the Police and Crime Panel today.

Emily Spurrell meets six times a year with the Panel. They support the Police Commissioner, while holding responsibility for overseeing her work and making sure she is holding the Chief Constable to account.

This is the fifth meeting of the 2022/23 financial year.

This meeting will focus on the first priority of Pillar 3 of the PCC's Police and Crime Plan: Driving Change.

The PCC will also use this meeting to present her budget proposal for 2023/24 and discuss governance arrangements. 

This meeting will also cover a review of how the PCC monitors police performance and holds the Chief Constable to account.

Police and Crime Panel meetings are always open to the public.
