Working in collaboration to ensure neurodiversity-inclusive approaches are embedded across our region.
Merseyside's Police and Crime Commissioner is inviting proposals to work in collaboration with the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Merseyside (OPCCM) and the Merseyside Violence Reduction Partnership (MVRP) to develop a suite of assets for professionals and communities which provide easy access to early help and support where there is a concern that a young adult at risk of, or already involved in, serious violence, may be neurodiverse or have a neurodevelopmental need.
The Police Commissioner and the MVRP adopt a multi-agency Public Health Approach to tackling and preventing serious violence, placing a strong emphasis on addressing the root causes of serious violence, whilst integrating a strengths-based model of delivery which focuses on identifying the positives, as well as the needs, of communities to build upon protective factors to reduce serious violence at a population level.
This should be considered at each stage of asset development, ensuring that assets are strengths-based and focus on identifying supportive adjustments which reduce risk and vulnerability.
About the Request for Quotations:
The prospective bidder should demonstrate that they possess the necessary expertise, capacity, and innovative approaches to develop comprehensive toolkits and resources that address the complex needs of this vulnerable population. The intended outcome is three-fold:
- To empower young adults with the skills, knowledge, and support required to divert them from pathways which may lead to involvement in serious violence either as a victim or perpetrator.
- To provide young adults with practical tools and resources to support them in navigating and understanding the Criminal Justice System (CJS).
- To equip and support parents/carers, peers, and professionals (statutory and third sector) supporting and/or working with these young adults by providing them with practical tools and resources that enhance their ability to engage effectively, identify risk factors, and implement preventative approaches. This support aims to empower professionals to foster positive, long-term change.
