Jane Kennedy, Police Commissioner for Merseyside, has published her plan to move her office from Bixteth Street in Liverpool City Centre to Allerton Police Station. The move will allow Commissioner Kennedy to make additional savings that can be re-directed back into the policing budget and provide a more accessible office.

Jane Kennedy said, “I inherited my current premises from the old Police Authority and whilst they were suitable at the time, they are too big for my office. By making use of existing police estate, which I will be sharing with police officers and staff, I am ensuring that no additional money is being taken from the policing budget. Together with changes I have made to staffing, this decision has allowed me to make savings of £700,000, money that can be ploughed back into maintaining frontline policing. Additionally, having listened to feedback from the public and others who have found my current premises difficult to locate, I am confident moving to a highly visible police premises such as Allerton will make my office more accessible.”
