Jane Kennedy, Police Commissioner for Merseyside, has responded to the Home Affairs Committee report on Police and Crime Commissioners’ interests, pay, costs, second jobs and offices.

Commissioner Kennedy said, "I am very happy with the outcome of the Home Affairs Committee report; not only am I one of only ten PCCs that provided all required financial information but my office has the second biggest percentage reduction in budget compared to that of the Police Authority. The changes I have made since being in office, including a staffing restructure and a relocation to existing police estate, have resulted in savings of £700,000; money that can be put straight back into the policing budget to maintain vital services.

"All information relating to my new staffing structure can be found on my website, www.merseysidepcc.info."
