Support a #BladeFree Merseyside

Merseyside / December 13

Knife crime is an increasingly serious issue in our communities. We need your help to help raise awareness about the new #BladeFree campaign, launching in January 2020.

#BladeFree is the first campaign for ‘Our Merseyside’ a new social movement of individuals and organisations all working together to make a positive difference to the people who live in Merseyside. The movement was created in partnership with the Police and Crime Commissioner, Merseyside Police, local councils, and other partner organisations.

#BladeFree is a united approach to support our young people away from knife and violent crime through diversionary activities and initiatives – activities such as sport, music, theatre, and practical skills to improve employability.

Merseyside is full of passionate people. So many are doing huge amounts of good work in their local neighbourhoods. @OurMerseyside will harness their collective efforts, promote them on the Our Merseyside website, through social media and across the whole of Merseyside, and mobilise and grow a powerful social movement.

We need you to get behind ‘Our Merseyside’ and support #BladeFree.

Please complete a three-minute survey HERE to show your support for #BladeFree. Your first name will be shown under the list of #BladeFree supporters on the Our Merseyside website.

If you are a group or club that offers activities for young people, promote them for FREE on the Our Merseyside website by providing details via this survey HERE.

Young people and families will be able to search the website to find activities they can get involved in close to where they live.

Thank you for your support.

PS – you will be able to see the website for yourself when it’s live on 13th January 2020 at www.ourmerseyside.org
