Merseyside's Police Commissioner is today meeting with the Police and Crime Panel, the body which scrutinses her work.
Jane Kennedy meets six times a year with the Panel. They support the Commissioner in her work, while holding responsibility for overseeing her work and making sure she is holding the Chief Constable to account.
This is the fourth meeting of the 2019/20 financial year. It was originally due to be held in Demcember, but due to Purdah, it was agreed that this meeting would be postponed.
On the agenda for discussion are the Commissioner's Police and Crime Plan priority of tackling serious and organised crime, an update on the Merseyside Community Safety Partnership and community safety funding, Jane will also provide an update on the Crime Prevention Fund, which is designed to stop problems before they occur, by reducing the opportunities for crime and by deterring people away from becoming involved in anti-social and criminal behaviour.
These meetings are always open to the public and you are welcome to attend.
The papers for this meeting are always published five days ahead of this meeting and can be found by going to the Police and Crime Panel section on the Knowsley Council website here.
