Merseyside Police Commissioner's preferred candidate to be her next Deputy is today attending a confirmation hearing.
The former leader of Wirral Council, Phil Davies, is Jane Kennedy's choice to take up the role of Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner.
Mr Davies will today (Thursday 9th April) go before the body which scrutinises the Commissioner’s work, the Merseyside Police and Crime Panel, for a confirmation hearing when they will review the appointment and consider his suitability for the role.
The Panel are required to hold a confirmation hearing within three weeks of being notified of the Commissioner’s preferred candidate and they will provide a public report with their recommendation.
Due to the Government's advice in light of the global Coronavirus pandemic, this meeting will be held virtually.
