PCC to unite with colleagues

24th July 2019 10:00 - 15:00

Merseyside's Police Commissioner will meet with her PCC colleagues from around the country today.

Jane Kennedy is attending the Annual General Meeting of the Association of Police and Crime Commissioner's (APCC), the national body which represents Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs).

The meeting is being held in Westminster and follows on from a number of events held there yesterday, including a 'deep dive' session on road safety.

The general meeting will include the election of new members and the appointment of a new Chair of the APCC. There will also be presentations from Niven Rennie, the director of the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit and Professor Jonathon Sheppard from Cardiff University on what works in reducing violence, plus a discussion on the development of Violence Reduction Units across England and Wales.

PCCs will also receive a presentation from Chief Constable Simon Bailey on Child Sexual Exploitation and an update from Chief Constable James Vaughan on work to transform forensics capability.

Sessions will also be held on the national digital, data and technology strategy and on finance and resources.
