Could you join the Police Cadets?

Do you want to be a Police Cadet or know of anyone who would?

If you are 16 and are currently in Year 12, you would be eligible to join the Merseyside Police Volunteer Cadet Scheme.

This is a one-year scheme that engages young people who are 16-18 years old.

Those eligible to apply will have received their GCSE results in August 2016.

As a volunteer cadet, you will be involved in a structured training programme, aimed at developing key life skills and providing experiences that cannot be obtained elsewhere. You will have the opportunity to learn more about the police service, with insights and visits to many departments including:

  • Dogs and mounted
  • Firearms
  • Control rooms and contact centres
  • Public order training
  • Forensics

Other activities Volunteer Police Cadets can get involved with include fundraising events, local problem solving exercises, high profile events, first aid training and an insight into football operations.

Recruitment is currently open and will stay open until 2nd December 2016.
